History
Early Years
In the year -19 Thion was born on the Wookiee home planet of Kashyyyk his Father was a mechanic of some renown while his Mother was a master of crafting the traditional Wookiee weapons such as Bowcasters and Ryyk Blades, she also created beautiful art that often featured in exhibitions around the galaxy. Thion has very scarce memories of his Mother and Father as he was orphaned when Trandoshan trophy hunters descended upon his village early in year -11.
Foster Family
After Thion parents were murdered he was found hiding in his Mothers forge by her long-time friend and business partner Algus Roseland. Algus would adopt Thion and begin teaching him his merchant trade in the hope of giving him a stable life. After a couple of year Algus made a drastic decision that would drive a huge wedge between Thion and his adoptive father. At a medical station, inside of Hutt space Algus had Thion vocal chords “restrung” allowing the Wookiee to produce the sounds necessary to speak Galactic Basic (a procedure Thion would later have again allowing him to speak both Basic and Shyriiwook) Algus believed that this ability to speak basic would allow him to more easily conduct trade deals with the Galaxy at large.
Adolescents
Throughout his adolescent years Thion was largely shunned by his Wookiee peers due to his inability to speak Shyriiwook and his other decidedly Human characteristics. One evening when Algus was out late with one of his Wookiee trading partners Thion, eager to prove himself to his peers armed himself with the Ryyk Blade and Bowcaster that his mother had made for him when he was born and descended into the depths of the Wookiee homeworld to attempt to slay a Katarn. With no experience at hunting and very little experience in climbing Thion was found early the next day with a broken leg only a kilometre from his adoptive Fathers ship. Algus decided that Thion would not be allowed to return to Kashyyyk lest he try the same stupid stunt again. Spending the next three years travelling the Galaxy Thion became fascinated with ships devoting his spare time to studying how they were constructed from start to finish. By the time Thion was 18 years of age he knew everything from pulling the raw materials from the ground to flying them out of the shipyard for sale or assignment.
Return to Kashyyyk
Early in year one Thion left his adoptive fathers company and set off to become a cargo pilot on his homeworld of Kashyyyk. Returning to Wookiee culture was a difficult task, everything was different and so was Thion. It was at this stage that he decided to have a surgery that would again allow him to speak Shyriiwook but in doing so would not remove his ability to produce basic, luckily it was a total success. Through his career as a shuttle pilot he retained his obsession with ships, always keeping up to date with the latest methods of production and the latest model of ship. Thion would also during this time meet a Wookiee by the name of Gymwooken Darkstar who would become his mentor and teach him all it meant to be a Wookiee. Beginning to trust Gymwooken more and more Thion confided in him about the day he broke his leg and Gymwooken replied with a thunderous roar of laughter. Thion was, at first very dismayed by this display until he realised something change in the Wookiees expression. Later that day Gymwooken would begin teaching Thion all he would ever need to know about the Ryyk Blade and the Bowcaster that had been left to him by his Mother.
Trade Federation service
Starsign Shipyards
Late in year 9 Thion decided that simply flying ships and occasionally effecting repairs was not the path he wanted to follow. Thion began searching for positions in the ship production industry in his search he found Starsign Shipyards. Thion was drawn to Starsign because of their impressive range of starships including the YT-2400 a ship he would later go on to both build and purchase from Starsign. Thion quickly applied and was accepted making relatively quick progress up the ranks and producing countless ships Starsign would sadly close its doors on Year 10 Day 174 when it would merge with the Techno Union.
Techno Union
Following the merger of Starsign with the Techno Union Thion continued his ship production work for several more months before being primarily moved to the resourcing sector of the Techno Union. In this capacity Thion oversaw dozens of the mines that drove the Techno Unions ship building from supervising its extraction to coordinating orders of raw materials with the various shipyards and factories under the Unions control. Trade Federation Department of Logistics Thion was redeployed to the Trade Federations Department of Logistics during this time he was the member of two different flight teams. The first was Div Mac’s “Forerunners” in this flight team Thion along with other members of his team effectively completed several missions for the Federation and her members. Thions time in this flight team came to an end when Div was no longer able to sustain his duties as a Flight Lead officer (FLO). After this Thion found himself in another flight team the “Cougars” under FLO Mathias Skylancer Thions time in this flight team would be limited as he increasingly felt the call of production and requested a transfer back to the Ministry of Production.
Kuat Drive Yards
At the time Thion returned from the Department of Logistics the Techno Union had been repurposed as a vehicle production company so Thion was sent to work for Kuat Drive yards. Thion happily took to shipbuilding again embracing the “start to finish” in which Thion would oversee the mining, transport and storage of materials and then begin production with said materials. Thion currently retains his position within Kuat Drive Yards as a Supervisor working in their Shipyards, mines and factories in the Northern Trade Federation sectors.
House Valeo
In late year 17 Thion was approached by a Sullustan named Eronos Lookfar, he asked Thion if he had any interest in joining House Valeo and assisting them in their search for new knowledge and in reconstructing the once great Valeo. Thion considered this proposal and soon found himself in the Valeo Embassy undergoing an interview with then Warden Shor Urra. Thion was accepted into House Valeo on Y17 D55 and immediately got to work constructing a history of House Valeo for the Trade Federation archives. Upon completing this task Thion was recognised for his efforts and on Y17 D317 he was promoted to the rank of Seeker and granted both a seat and a vote among the senate of House Valeo. Thion continued his work looking deeper into the history of Valeo and the galaxy itself learning new and more amazing things as he dove deeper into the archives and relics stored within the Athenaeum. Year 18 saw the Warden of House Valeo unable to continue his duties, with this Sentinel Rick Stormchaser called upon any Valean to put forward their name to take this leadership role within the house. Thion placed his name forward for this great honour and responsibility and on Day 100 of the 18th year Thion was proclaimed the Warden of House Valeo.
