Year 16 Day 17: The Avance Coalition merges its territories into the Trade Federation.

In a joint press conference in front of a veritable army of Trade Federation News Network and Avance News Network reporters, Avance Coalition First Seat Navik Ikron and Trade Federation Viceroy Jacob Jansen released a simple statement: "The Avance Coalition will merge with the Trade Federation."

File:Tfnn merger.png

After a moment of stunned silence from the assembled press corps, an unintelligible flurry of questions rained forth upon the two leaders. First Seat Ikron calmed the crowd, saying, "This is not being done out of whim or personal gain. I’m not receiving any service, technology, or monetary exchange for doing this. The Trade Federation is a group much like our own. We all are friends and work well together as leading bodies within the Galactic Concordiate. Our combined governments will form one super government capable of doing so much more than just either of us could accomplish ourselves."

Viceroy Jansen, nodding, added: "This is a huge move. No, it's a colossal move. When I was first approached by Navik, I was pleasantly surprised. The gravity of such a merger is overwhelming. But we have such a strong infrastructure in place, we are able to incorporate every department and member within our own with little trouble. This merger is a unique chance for all of us. A once-in-a-lifetime chance. Together we can accomplish great heights that before were never even imagined. To our allies and future allies: we look forward to working with you on our new joint endeavors."

Despite another barrage of questions, the lectern from which the two leaders were speaking was rolled off-camera and a table and two chairs were brought in. First Seat Ikron and Viceroy Jansen sat down and proceeded to use a huge varactyl quill and ink to sign their names to the treaty that would not only merge two governments, but also result in other changes in Avance space.

Rendili StarDrive, Centurion Arms, and Alpha Medical Corps will be joining the Trade Federation family. The Wraiths mercenary group, formerly owned by Soyak-Rainer Enterprises, have been given full control of the Trilon sector and will be an autonomous entity. The Cerean Quadrant, Sombure, Yushan, and Gendius sectors will be under control of King Arklari Clise and the newly-founded Kingdom of Elysia, reformed from the Harbingers and operating both Czerka Corporation and Golan Technologies. Both the Kingdom and The Wraiths will remain on friendly terms with the Federation, and will work closely together to defend the territories from threats to the safety of the citizens living there.

As for the reasons for the merge, political pundits across the galaxy have posited many theories. The one that fits best suggests that the Galactic Concordiate served as the backdrop providing a mutual political and cultural growth for both the Avance Coalition and the Trade Federation. Several members of the Federation government joined the House system and Avance got involved in the Federation Market, further bringing the two peoples together. Both sides were dedicated to the maintenance of peace through neutrality, supported by strong economic policies. Seeing the success of the GC, talks began to address how the cause for neutrality and prosperity might be furthered by working closer together and establishing a unified front to confront the encroaching tides of war, the increasing boldness of piracy galaxy-wide, and the galactic recession. After much discussion, a merge grew as a popular option and was soon taken to heart by the leadership to consider in greater detail.

TFNN economic analyst Moradin Kwyntehst pointed out that a key feature to watch is the availability of technology that was formerly restricted or exclusively offered by Avancian companies like Rendilli and Centurion Arms now is more readily available to be integrated in Federation defense fleets and has less obstruction to being more available to the public in the Federation market. This, of course, only increases the Federation's economic influence as more equipment will be sold exclusively through their markets, giving them complete control over the markets for those items or weapons. Additionally, an internal announcement released to Federation personnel obtained from unnamed sources shows that Federation salaries and fringe benefits will be increased to more closely match those enjoyed by those who served Avance before the merge.

Early congratulations on the merge came in from a close ally. Hapan King Zayth Kadrim sent the following by Holonet: "Avance Coalition became known for being an economic powerhouse, striving towards recognition as a mediator on the galactic stage, with its Houses forming the undercurrent of its distinct culture. Although it is regrettable to see its time coming to an end, without a doubt they have found the right partner in Trade Federation to entwine their futures with. As such Hapes welcomes the strengthened hand of the Trade Federation, and we wish them all the best with their efforts of bridging both the physical distance and the cultural dissimilarities between the two peoples. We will continue to follow with interest how the diverse possibilities offered by this merger become utilized by the parties involved."

Reconstruction of Endor's Forest Moon

TFNN - Endor System, Moddell Sector The lush, verdant forests from which the Forest Moon got its name have become famous galaxy wide. Home to both the Yuzzum and the Ewok peoples, the breathtaking majesty of the moon was chosen years before to host the capital of the Avance Coalition as if the richness and fertility of the jungles and the residents who prospered alongside and not by or in spite of the untamed expanses could say more about the former government than could any palace or diplomat. For years it silently circled the planet Endor, broadcasting its bold, unchallenged growth and glory on behalf of the whole Coalition. Visitors today, however, find a much different story.

Image:tfnn-forestmoon1.png

If one were to travel to the famed Forest Moon today, you'd find it a forest in name only. The growth of the former Avance Coalition brought with it expansion projects to the capital, and with projections of growth in the upswing before the Recession even more land was cleared and slabbed to prepare for the building and infrastructure to support the promised prosperity. Many resorts, seeking to allow more of the public to experience the splendors sought to expand their grounds and locations around the moon as well. But it was not to be. The Galactic Recession found the moon cleared and mostly slabbed over, with many cities and settlements in various stages of completion. The many public works projects aimed to stimulate the economy focused on the planet Endor, and made use of the open space on the moon for material storage and recycling foundries. The condition of the moon's surface declined rapidly. By the time the problem was brought to the attention of the former Avance government who had been scrambling to address the myriad effects of the Recession, internal security disputes, and assisting allies in combating terrorism, the problem's magnitude had surpassed the funds and energy needed to combat it effectively. Paul Luz was approved by the Hall of Houses to assemble a team of Avance Rangers and scholars to study the effects of rapid urbanization on planets and estimate the scope and trajectory of currents trends as the majority of programs aimed at ending the recession hinged on public works and infrastructure expansion. His efforts, however, ran parallel with the plans to merge the Coalition with her closest ally, the Trade Federation. Luz was only able to assemble his team and start planning their methods before the Hall of Houses that had approved and sponsored his efforts had ceased to be, dismantled and assumed into the new regional government of the Federation.

Those hardest hit were the native inhabitants. Robbed of their habitats which not only gave them housing, but also their hunting grounds and connections to their cultural heritage and rituals, they were left to fend for themselves in the streets or in smaller, poorly fashioned settlements in the uncompleted cities. Many more were compensated and offered shelter in newly constructed tenements. Depression still plagued even those populations, who felt as if they had been cut off from their own identities. Programs were in place to assist them in their new lives, the most effective of which only achieved small amounts of sustainable success.

Image:tfnn-forestmoon2.png

This environmental crisis did not go unaddressed or under-noticed for long. Just this past month, Viceroy Jacob Jansen's shuttle was spotted traversing what once was hailed as the "Jewel of Moddell." Further investigations prompted local officials to reveal his intentions in visiting the moon. The Viceroy, Jansen, and the Regional Governor, Tanez Kalrade, were meeting to review and discuss plans for the moons further development. Representatives from both the Ewok and Yuzzum communities were present at each meeting, and accompanied Federation officials on certain site visits to meet with surveyors and potential contractors. While those at the press conference were mute concerning the details, the Governor readily agreed to answer questions later. From our investigation, these plans call for a large scale recycling and reclamation efforts to return the moon to its original, pristine condition as one of the galaxy's exceptional emerald gems. All of the cities and settlements with the exception of a small but yet unannounced number of the southern-most federally used cities and academic outposts are slated to start their demolition and recycling phases just as soon as the final surveys and ecological impact studies are reviewed. Governor Kalrade told reporters the newly reclaimed wildspace will be protected as a preservation and will remain unshielded for public access for camping, studying, hunting, and general tourism and adventuring.

To those who are putting the plans together, this means so much more than reforestation of an exploited ecosystem or the respect of native peoples. It means so much more than just the rekindling of something that once was. To them, this is a new creation and one that can further unify the peoples of the Trade Federation, especially those still adjusting to their new identity. There are parallel plans that Youth Service Corps be organized for young sentient from across Federation-controlled space to come together and help with the restoration project, together building a treasure of their people and owning their new unity.

Public reception to the plans have been overwhelmingly warm and well received across the Federation, though potential vacationers and adventurers alike are holding off on booking their trips until a firm timetable has been announced. A major hold up for the timetable is the time it would take for the once centuries-old forests to return to their former glory. While the methods for expediting the natural lengthy process of growth and forest secession are still being discussed, it is likely that some "pioneer species" might be used first to ready the soil with nutrients and then "seed forests" will be crafted from genetically engineered floral samples preserved by the former Coalition. These specimens would develop at a faster rate, mimicking the process used for sentient cloning procedures. Con Semper, a leading researcher in cloning technologies, told us that this, should it be implemented, would only serve to give the forests and jungles a head state so to speak, and would not replace natural development. Legal discussions about the return of tribal lands to the native inhabitants are continuing, though all are hopeful a prosperous equilibrium will soon be met and that the beloved moon will once again testify to the greatness its protecting power.

Year 15 Day 19Trade Federation Market Announcement

Trade Federation Market Announcement! Asrat, Nouane (TFNN) - The logo of Trade Federation News Network manifests, representing the scheduled conference broadcast via the GNS-TFNN link is about to commence. After a few seconds, it dissolves into the new Trade Federation Market Network Logo.

Image:TFMarketLogo.png

The logo once again fades to a young Hapan reporter standing in the midst of a crowd of press. While supporting the receiver in her ear to be able to hear the transmission, she tries to overcome the noise and begins: "Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and species of all kinds, I'm here reporting live today from the Department of Trade's headquarters within the Asrat System. All of the press has been invited here today by the Minister of Production, Salamku Derov. The Minister's office has been secretive to this point as to..." Her voice trails off as she works on receiving a transmission. After a moment, the Hapan quickly recovers her composure and continues, "The Minister has just entered view and is now making his way to the dais."

The camera pans upward away from the reporter, to the dais whereupon Minister Derov prepares to speak; next to him is an unidentified, uniformed human male.

Image:DerovKalrade.png

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, thank you for presenting yourselves to this conference. You may be wondering why we have summoned you at this hour to the Department of Trade's Sales Hub. We are pleased to announce that, in accordance with the Trade Federation's Empire of Trade Policy, we release for the first time to the public the Federation's Holo-Market. To discuss in further detail this new marketplace, as well as other new initiatives from the Department of Trade, I would now like to turn over to the Director of Trade." The Neimoidian cedes the floor.

The male standing next to the Minister, now identified as Tanez Kalrade, the Director of Trade, stands behind the dais.

"Thank you, Minister. I'm pleased to be here today to release to the public a project that has been months in the making." Pausing for a moment, the Director continues; "Since the creation of the Department of Trade less than a year ago, we as a Department have expanded our ventures with the assistance of various production corporations. With the help of the most excellent Board of Trade members, who have consistently provided valuable insight and expertise throughout the development of the project, I am most pleased to announce that the new holo-market has been completed and is now open to the public."

The business lobby, which for a considerable length of time had been pressing the Department for a modernization of it's management protocols and an increase in the level of service provided, though pressure is thought to have been particularly heavy from the following large conglomerates; Orange, Jawa Mechanic's Friend Conglomerated Industries, Macrorough, Rio Hamza, and Googol, begins to applaud.

In the midst of the approbation, the Director takes the time to pass his hand towards the Board of Trade members, sitting behind to his left while the screen shows the logos of each.

Motioning succinctly to end the applause, the Director continues; "Along with this magnificent holosite, the Department of Trade is most excited about a handful of new programs that are now available to the public."

"The first program that I will touch on is the newly formed Loyalty Club. This program is exclusively for those traders who frequent our site, are citizens, or are our loyal customers! For each purchase made with the new holosite, a customer that is a member of the Loyalty Club is awarded a certain percentage of points back, points that are usable during checkout."

"Secondly, I wish to say just a couple of things about the Trader's Rating List, also known as the TRL, that is currently in operation. Nevertheless, with the holosite finally becoming a reality, the TRL will be automated for our customers that wish to be rated, as well as those which are currently our loyal customers and friends. I encourage all traders of all backgrounds to apply, and for new traders and business people to use the TRL as a point of reference for any of the possible scams and inefficient factions out in the galaxy today. We at the Department of Trade wish to help the community in filtering out the scammers thieves, and all other criminals, so that you all can continue to trade without harm. The TRL, while automated, will certainly still be operating in the fashion it does now, whereby it draws upon the experience of the Board of Trade and the members thereof. In this fashion, you can be assured that it will remain a credible method by which you can judge a persons character."

The Director pauses for a few seconds, taking a small drink located atop the rostrum upon the dais, whereupon he continues; "Thirdly and lastly, I give you the Department of Trade's newest program, the Public Purchase Program! Along with our already-functioning and popular consignment program, the Public Purchase Program is simply a place for traders who cannot sell their products to be able to pick up some quick cash by selling directly to DoT. The department will be publishing all of the requisite information on the new holosite, including the trade price and buy price, whichever method the customer would like to choose."

Director Kalrade motions to the press, signalling the closing statement is about to be given and the Q&A given shortly thereafter; "I hope that you all will visit our new holosite, as well as the tech support channel on your datapads, #TF-Traders, for any questions or concerns. Thank you all for coming. I will take questions from the press after a short intermission."

With the press release concluded, the camera pans back to the Hapan reporter, now standing with the Managing Director of the Macrorough Corporation, William Fences...

Galactic Concordiate Solidifies Neutral Power Bloc

In a joint news conference on Year 14 Day 103, the Heads of State of the Trade Federation, Hapes Consortium, Mandalore, Tion Hegemony and Aurodium Legion announced the formation of an alliance that formalizes the bond they have created over years of collaboration and cooperation. These governments will comprise the founding members of the Galactic Concordiate, a military and economic alliance which is a neutral force in the galactic conflict between the Imperial Union and the Galactic Alliance. The Concordiate, the galaxy's largest neutral alliance will span over 35 sectors and 650 planets.

File:Gns concordiate formation.png

Viceroy Jacob Jansen, who will serve the first term as the Magistrate of the Executive Council of the Concordiate, underscored the importance of the announcement. He is quoted as stating: 'In a galaxy torn by the civil war, the Galactic Concordiate creates a legitimate opportunity for groups to be neutral. The foundation of our alliance is the close bond between its founding members, and we will extend that bond even further as our new alliance flourishes.'

Reporters present questioned the Heads of State for two hours following the announcement to uncover the details of the 'Treaty of Forsetti' and the implications on the galactic landscape. Broadly speaking, the alliance will consist of 'Sovereign States' which will be responsible for the general well-being of the Concordiate and its members, and 'Member States', which will be preferred business partners of the alliance with the ability to request and receive assistance from the Concordiate as a whole. Sovereign States will participate in a military defensive pact, joint research and development operations, and other programs not outlined in detail during the press conference.

Governance of the Galactic Concordiate will fall to two bodies: (1) the Executive Council, which will consist of the Heads of State of each Sovereign State and will be responsible for setting guidelines for many operational areas of the Galactic Concordiate and (2) the General Council, which will consist of two members of each Sovereign State and one member of each Member State and will be responsible for new laws and regulations for the Concordiate, as well as approval of membership applications. The administrative duties of the Executive Council will be performed by the Magistrate, which will rotate to each Head of State every six months; the administrative duties of the General Council will be performed by the Steward, who will be voted in by the General Council every six months.

Many of the questions focused on the Concordiates stance in the galactic conflict. Although each founding member was previously a member of the Imperial Union, each Head of State affirmed the Concordiates neutrality, citing the mission statement of the group '[t]o promote the the prosperity, stability and neutrality of its sovereign and member states through solidarity in economic and military cooperation.'

Lord Hegemon Typhon Corbin of the Tion Hegemony addressed the relationship each group now has with the Galactic Empire following their joint withdrawal from the Imperial Union: 'The Galactic Empire was an ally of our nations for many years. We all valued the opportunity to develop that kind of relationship with the Empire, but ultimately they wished to take the Imperial Union in a different direction. Our collective withdrawal allowed the Empire a seamless transition for the Imperial Union and opened the door for the relationship the rest of us had formed to prosper as the Galactic Concordiate.'

In closing, the Heads of State confirmed that the Galactic Concordiate will consider new applicants to join the alliance as either Sovereign States or Member States. Interested parties were directed to the Concordiate Holonet laying out the membership criteria for potential applicants. In short, the criteria are designed 'to evidence support of the Galactic Concordiate Mission Statement and ensure a mutually beneficial relationship between a new Concordiate member and its existing members.' When asked to speculate on potential new members, the Heads of State declined to comment, but did confirm they expected significant interest from governments and corporations that valued both their neutrality and the support of allies.

Director of Culture Appointed!

Image:Dominic masters ava.png

Ladies and gentlemen of all species, it is with great pleasure that I announce to you the promotion of Dominic Masters to Director of Culture. Mr Masters has been with the Department for almost four months now, and has risen quickly through the ranks. Promotions to the Director position come rarely in the Trade Federation, but Dominic has consistently displayed the qualities that both I and the Cabinet are looking for to lead Culture. He has shown the initiative to organize the department's members, has spearheaded the Confederate Ledger project which is working on its third issue already, and has actively recruited for the Department, resulting in great increases in productivity. I look forward to continued success of the Department of Culture under Director Master's leadership.

Please join me in thanks and congratulations for Mr Masters.

New Consul Appointed

Year 10, Day 67
Consul Glaeken Trismegestus,

Image:Glaeken2.jpg

Has stepped down from the role of Consul due to a very busy schedule preventing him from fulfilling his Consular duties. With the position of Consul vacant, the CIS Senate members gathered to elect a new Consul and have reached a decision. By a majority vote Senator Siraloth Xivah,

Image:Siralothxivah2.jpg

Has today been elected and appointed as the new Consul of the CIS Senate! Siraloth Xivah is an experienced member who has served the CIS loyally in many roles. With his appointment to Consul, he brings with him his vast array of experience and his wealth of knowledge which he will use to lead the Senate to great horizons.

Consul Xivah had the following to say upon finding out that he had been elected as the new Consul. ”It feels great being in such a position that allows me to serve the greater good of the Confederacy! As Consul I plan on using all the powers that have been bestowed upon me in order to further unify and solidify the bond that the Confederacy has in the galaxy. I also have many plans to promote the use of the Trade Federation Market, as well as plans that will strengthen the bond between members of the Confederacy and Imperial Union through various community events.”

As the new Consul, Siraloth Xivah will continue in the footsteps of previous Consuls while continuing to revitalize the position with new ideas that will better the Confederacy as a whole.

"Order of Kampar Secedes from CIS"

Year 10, Day 23
Ladies and Gentleman we bring you an announcement, live, from the Order of Kampar home system of Kamparas. Recently, Prophet Kurner Dahtar,

leader of the Order of Kampar (also well known for his work in establishing the Trade Federation Market), announced his intentions to retire from the Order due to a desire to spend more time traveling the galaxy (OOC: A lack of time was the main contributor). Kurner decided to pass leadership of the Order to second in command and former Trade Federation Viceroy, Horley Cyan.

Unfortunately Prophet Cyan does not share his predecessor's views and has decided to with draw the Order from under the CIS umbrella. Viceroy Jansen was quoted saying "There are no hard feelings and we will still utilize the OOK for religious facility management." Furthermore, we were unable to contact neither Horley nor Kurner, however, we were able to determine that no large structural changes will befall the Order.

Repercussions from Prophet Dahtar's departure have been felt outside of the OOK community as well. As pre-mentioned Prophet Dahtar was the main developer of the Trade Federation Market. With his departure Viceroy Jansen has gone in search of a new developer in hopes of continuing TFM's advancement in the world of economics.

Thank you for watching this special Department of Culture report.

"Solomon D`ark Announced as New Starsign Shipyards CEO"

Year 10, Day 8
Ladies and Gentlemen, we bring to you a special announcement originating from the Trade Federation capital city of Forsetti. Just recently, Viceroy Jansen announced Starsign Shipyards COO, Solomon D`ark as the replacement for temporary CEO and Trade Federation Deputy-Minister of Defense Kendall Holm.

Deputy-Minister Holm had little to say on the matter explaining only that, "I was just there to watch [Starsign] while Jacob found a leader. [I was] never intended to be permanent."

We were unable to contact Solomon himself, however, we were able to ascertain that a new COO has not yet been named. Thank you for watching this special report directly from the Department of Culture.

Kendall Holm Announced as Temporary CEO of Starsign Shipyards

Year 9, Day 357
Your holoprojector comes to life with a soft, "BLIP" and you see the words "Connection Established" appear on the screen. Then you see the image of a young neimodian. You turn up the volume as he begins to speak.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we interrupt our Department of Culture broadcast with a special news-flash direct from the CIS Senate. Earlier this week, CEO of Starsign Shipyards, Grand Duke Hilem Ordo resigned from his position due "a lack of time and other 'personal' reasons" .

Image:Hilem_Ordo.jpg
Duke Ordo

Recently the TF Cabinet in conjunction with the CIS Senate appointed current Deputy-Minister of Defense Kendall Holm as the interim CEO of the ship producing faction. As some people know, Deputy-Minister Holm has a good deal of experience in producing ships and owns his own shipyard located in the Athega system. He had this to say when we got to speak with him, "I am there to get things moving [again]. Starsign Shipyards has been idle with all productions shut down. I am there to bring everything back online." Grand Duke Ordo expressed his wish to stay with the faction and will be doing whatever his time constraints permit.

Changes in the Cabinet

Year 9, Day 308
The screen flickers and is replaced with a live feed from the Trade Federation Capital Building where the Viceroy Jacob Jansen is about to address the Confederacy. Flanked at his sides is the rest of the Federation Cabinet.

"Greetings my Fellow Confederates

Over the last few weeks Duceroy Rand Axim and myself have been discussing some upcoming changes in the Federation. Duceroy Axim has been a icon of Trade Federation expansion from the first day he joined. Early decisions about a metropolis tax planet project were based on his recommendations. Since realizing 2 such tax planets, funding for many other important projects within the Federation and the Confederacy has been made possible."

"Sadly, Duceroy Axim will be taking up a few different projects within the Federation that will take up most of his time and leave little room for his Duceroyal duties. Therefore, the Duceroy has tendered his official resignation. Thankfully, he wont be going very far and will still remain an Advisor to the Cabinet."

"With Rand Axim's resignation as Duceroy, I have been tasked to find a suitable replacement. Without reservation, I approached Minister Bub`ba Lou and he quickly accepted. As of a few minutes ago, the Cabinet officially approved my nominee; making Bub`ba Lou's promotion to Duceroy of the Trade Federation official, effective immediately."

"With out further ado, I present your Duceroy..." The Viceroy steps back as Duceroy Bub`ba Lou steps up to the podium.

"Fellow Confederates,"

"I am deeply honored by the votes of confidence from Viceroy Jansen and my fellow Cabinet members. While my work in the CIS has always been in consideration of the best interests of both the Viceroy and the Trade Federation, I am overjoyed to be selected as the Viceroy's "right hand". Following in the footsteps of Rand Axim is a huge responsibility. One I take seriously. While I am sad to see Rand leave the position, I look forward to the challenges of the job as I accept this gracious offer."

"Thank you."

The camera fades out as Regent Tyridius and the rest of the Cabinet shake hands with Duceroy Bub`ba Lou.

Trade Federation joins the Imperial Union

Year 9, Day 295

You see a familiar insignia before the screen switches to an image of a man known as Viceroy Jacob Jansen, leader of the venerable Trade Federation, and figurehead of the well-known Confederacy of Independent Systems.

"Honorable citizens of the Confederacy, today I greet you with hope and great expectations for our collective future, on a matter of great importance to both us and the greater galaxy in general."

Image:Tfnnvjjiu.png

"The Trade Federation is a government that spans many systems and sectors. It encompasses the Confederacy of Independent Systems, an alliance of like-minded factions, united in a spirit of cooperation and mutual benefit. We have existed for many years in relative peace and harmony, founded on the principles of honor, integrity, and profit. Since our renaissance under the august Viceroy Corbin Esco, we have pursued a policy of neutrality and non-interference in matters of politics outside our sectors of space."

"Our policy of neutrality has been pursued under the express intentions of maximising our profit margins, but since our foundation, our bottom-line has grown exponentially to the point where our economic base is unassailable in relation to our export income. We no longer depend on trade as our primary source of income."

"As our financial foundation has grown and matured, so has our political position in the galaxy. No longer are we a fringe trading faction. Through the efforts of many citizens of the Confederacy, we have established ourselves as an economic powerhouse and our growth shows no signs of slowing."

Viceroy Jansen pauses, looking down for a moment as if collecting himself. Looking back up, his visage is unchanged.

"Over time, it has not been overlooked as to the potential economic and political benefit of the Confederacy joining the Imperial Union. This issue was raised by various parties at one point or another, and as with any matter of importance in the Confederacy, it was taken before the leaders of the Confederacy."

"There has been fierce debate, spanning several months, with passionate arguments for and against the matter, however, eventually all arguments were exhausted, all concerns addressed and all parties reconciled to the resolution. The Senate of the Confederacy, comprising of appointed and elected senators have soundly voted in favour of this resolution."

"Thus, it is with this mandate, given to me by the leaders of the Confederacy, that I whole-heatedly announce the inclusion of the Trade Federation and all those factions encompassed by the Confederacy of Independent Systems, into the Imperial Union."

"This historical agreement signifies the formation of the largest economic alliance the galaxy has seen in recent times. Together with the Hapes Consortium, Mandalore and the Galactic Empire, we as an economic bloc will be capable of focusing significant resources into projects of mutual benefit and work together in ensuring the maintenance of free and fair markets. We are a group of factions who look toward a future of peace, order, and prosperity."

"Fellow citizens, your leaders have chosen to take this step forward, for the long term benefit of the Confederacy, we now ask you to take the step with us, as we move towards a better and brighter future."

"Honor, Integrity, Profit"

The image of Viceroy Jansen fades to the Trade Federation insignia...

Minister of the Interior Appointed

Year 9, Day 235

With the departure of Minster Siraloth Xivah, a replacement is needed. When Minister Siraloth first told the Viceroy he was going to resign, there was only one man the Viceroy had in mind to replace him.

Congratulations to Minister Bub`ba Lou who will assume the post of Minister of the Interior immediately.

Minister Bub`ba Lou has done an outstanding job leading the Confederate Mining Corporation and there is no doubt in my mind that he will meet and exceed every expectation here in the Trade Federation!

Trade Federation Denounces Mercenary CIS

Year 9, Day 235

Today, from their seats in Forsetti, Vinsoth, the Trade Federation cabinet and Confederacy of Independent Systems senators were quick to denounce the emergence of a paramilitary group claiming the name 'Confederacy of Independent Systems.' On the steps of Forsetti's Government House, TFNN reporters were able to catch Viceroy Jacob Jansen and Dorinian Military Corps CEO Jeeva Ob for a few words.

"For years now, the Trade Federation has maintained an ever-growing alliance of factions under the umbrella of the Confederacy of Independent Systems," Jansen said. "The CIS has brought prosperity and trade to the Glythe Sector, as well as many systems spread across the galaxy."

"We are disappointed by Mr. Athanas Nadeset and the leadership of this false 'CIS' for their attempt to piggyback on the good name of the established Confederacy. Using the name and imagery of the CIS to influence the opinions of the galaxy's populace was a very poor choice."

"The Trade Federation cabinet and Confederacy senators echo the Viceroy's sentiments," Ob said, "and hope that galactic citizens and groups alike are not fooled into thinking the Mr. Nadeset's group is legitimate in any way. Mr. Nadeset has no claim to the CIS name, nor to the history accompanying it."

"The CIS wishes to take this opportunity to clarify that this new paramilitary group has absolutely no affiliation with the Trade Federation or any of its nationalized subsidiaries. The actions of this group in no way reflect the goals and beliefs of the true CIS."

'"Market Grand Opening"'

Year 9, Day 221

A young Neimoidian in the TFNN newsroom begins to speak: "Good evening. The Trade Federation, in conjunction with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, is pleased to announce its newest endeavor. Since the rebirth of the TF during the Corbin Esco viceroyship, the TF leadership has always wanted to move back into the trading realm. However various practical and political factors have prevented the move time and time again.

With the settling of the TF's political situation, the Trade Federation has achieved its goal and is proud to announce the grand opening of the Trade Federation Market. Based out of the Trade Federation capital planet of Vinsoth, the TFM is a free market for all honest traders to use. Overseen by TFM Board of Directors, the Market operates independently of the Trade Federation government." The screen fades to a recorded clip of Taldar Logas, Chairman of the Board of Directors, who begins to speak. "Our primary goal is to service the citizens of the Trade Federation and allied factions, but we welcome all traders who are looking for a safe market to buy and sell goods," Logas said. "The TFM offers middling services backed by the Confederacy of Independent Sytems, and exclusive sales from the Dorinian Military Corps, Haven Corporation, Starsign Shipyards and Haor Chall Engineering." The young Neimoidian re-appears on screen. "The Trade Federation has high hopes for the new market. Galactic traders can access the market's holonet interface at: market.tradefederation.net. Thank you for tuning in, and safe trading. Honor, integrity, profit."

New Minister of State Approved

Year 9 Day 205

With the departure of Minster Xavier, a replacement is needed. It is my great honor to announce the newest member of the Trade Federation Cabinet.

There were a few candidates who had much promise, but one outshined the rest. Congratulations to Minister Alahav Andregar who will assume the post of Minster of State immediately.

Minister Alahav Andregar has been a member of the then, Ministry of Government Affairs for some time and has all the experience and knowledge needed to administrate our Admissions, External Affairs and Culture departments.

Minister Alahav Andregar will no doubt exceed every expectation!

Seejay Resigns as Commerce Guild Executive

Year 9 Day 184

Glythe Sector, Vinsoth System, Aldaronach Station

Today the public sector was shocked at the unexpected news that Jetsi Seejay, the long-standing President and CEO of the Commerce Guild, had tendered his resignation effective immediately. This news was leaked after Mr. Seejay notified his employees in his monthly address that he was stepping down from his post due to “personal reasons”. His successor has been announced and the Barabel Hjrool Ohr, who previously served as the Quartermaster and Second-In-Command, has stepped up to take command of the mightiest mining faction in the galaxy.

The reaction from the employee group was understandably one of shock and sadness. Poo Poo Kerplatz, an Ewok construction worker, had this to say, [translated] ”I am so sad to see President Seejay step down. We have had our differences in the past, but even though he was demanding he was always fair and generous. I also look forward to seeing what ideas Hjrool will implement.” The reactions from other employees that I interviewed were the same, as were members of the Commerce Guild’s sister factions within the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

As Jetsi Seejay was preparing to board his personal ship docked to Aldaronach Station, we were afforded a very quick interview. When asked as to why Mr. Seejay was stepping down from his position, he stated that “running a faction of this magnitude is a life-consuming task. Without the help of my Directors, it would have been completely impossible and I thank each and every one of them from the bottom of my three hearts.” When asked about his future plans, Jetsi replied, “I have been without a vacation in quite a long time. I plan on returning to my homeworld of Yag’Dhul and getting reacquainted with my friends and family. From there, I think I will go in search of the Force. I am certain that it is inside of me, and if the Jedi Master’s can’t find it I will find it on my own.” When asked if he had any words of advice for his successor, Jetsi replied, “All I can tell President Ohr is to enjoy his time as leader of the best mining faction in the galaxy, be certain you have an excellent support staff with your Board of Directors, and do everything you can to keep the employees happy and satisfied.”

Jetsi Seejay leaves a legacy behind that is one for the history books. The net worth of the Commerce Guild increased by over 50% under his guidance, the number of planets under Commerce Guild control increased by 80%, numerous social programs were put into place, employee wages were increased steadily, and the opportunities for the employees of the Commerce Guild were always in abundance.
