Seejay Resigns as Commerce Guild Executive

Year 9 Day 184

Glythe Sector, Vinsoth System, Aldaronach Station

Today the public sector was shocked at the unexpected news that Jetsi Seejay, the long-standing President and CEO of the Commerce Guild, had tendered his resignation effective immediately. This news was leaked after Mr. Seejay notified his employees in his monthly address that he was stepping down from his post due to “personal reasons”. His successor has been announced and the Barabel Hjrool Ohr, who previously served as the Quartermaster and Second-In-Command, has stepped up to take command of the mightiest mining faction in the galaxy.

The reaction from the employee group was understandably one of shock and sadness. Poo Poo Kerplatz, an Ewok construction worker, had this to say, [translated] ”I am so sad to see President Seejay step down. We have had our differences in the past, but even though he was demanding he was always fair and generous. I also look forward to seeing what ideas Hjrool will implement.” The reactions from other employees that I interviewed were the same, as were members of the Commerce Guild’s sister factions within the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

As Jetsi Seejay was preparing to board his personal ship docked to Aldaronach Station, we were afforded a very quick interview. When asked as to why Mr. Seejay was stepping down from his position, he stated that “running a faction of this magnitude is a life-consuming task. Without the help of my Directors, it would have been completely impossible and I thank each and every one of them from the bottom of my three hearts.” When asked about his future plans, Jetsi replied, “I have been without a vacation in quite a long time. I plan on returning to my homeworld of Yag’Dhul and getting reacquainted with my friends and family. From there, I think I will go in search of the Force. I am certain that it is inside of me, and if the Jedi Master’s can’t find it I will find it on my own.” When asked if he had any words of advice for his successor, Jetsi replied, “All I can tell President Ohr is to enjoy his time as leader of the best mining faction in the galaxy, be certain you have an excellent support staff with your Board of Directors, and do everything you can to keep the employees happy and satisfied.”

Jetsi Seejay leaves a legacy behind that is one for the history books. The net worth of the Commerce Guild increased by over 50% under his guidance, the number of planets under Commerce Guild control increased by 80%, numerous social programs were put into place, employee wages were increased steadily, and the opportunities for the employees of the Commerce Guild were always in abundance.

This morning, an immense crowd gathered in Vinsoth to hear an announcement by President Krayt Fel of the Techno Union and representatives from the Trade Federation and Starsign Shipyards, another major shipbuilder. The announcement regards a major shift in these three factions' main area of responsibilities, as the Techno Union will, from now on, stop selling to the public in order to focus on all Trade Federation production requirements. In turn, Starsign Shipyards will take over all Techno Union orders and handle all public and Confederate sales.

Krayt Fel, President of TU

"..The Techno Union is moving back to its roots and to the reason it was founded, that is to construct the Trade Federation Navy. The magnitude of this task requires us to focus our attention on our primary duties and little more. Starsign Shipyards is more than capable of handling our additional order queue.

Regardless of timing, this change in venue was not related to the large price changes in most of our products brought about by the raw material equations and cost of producing them. It is unfortunate that it occurred and must carry through to people who already ordered ships under the assumption of what turned out to be about half the new price, but even in our new endeavor we will be dealing with these changes as well.

Overall we feel confident about the new direction of the Techno Union, and the future of the Confederacy as a whole."

Representatives from Starsign Shipyards informed us earlier today that, for the moment, they will not take any more orders directly from individuals but their current order queues will be processed nevertheless. For individuals seeking products with the SSS brand, these can still be found available to the general public via the various combine market places.

We wish both the Techno Union and Starsign Shipyards the best of luck with their new endeavors.
