Bub`ba Lou is a retired Duceroy and Regent of the Trade Federation. A veteran miner and steady hand in the Cabinet, he served at Viceroy Jacob Jansen's side through the Federation's entry into the Imperial Union era, and played a central role in rescuing the Federation's mining industry. Those who served with him remember him fondly to this day.

History

Cloud City Mining

Bub`ba is credited by Federation veterans as the founder of Cloud City Mining, a mining operation that served the Galactic Empire before being spun off as relations between the Empire and the Confederacy of Independent Systems warmed. Among its members was Adliger Urial, who would later follow the trail of mining factions into the Federation.

Confederate Mining Corporation

When Viceroy Jacob Jansen invested his personal funds to found the Confederate Mining Corporation on Year 9 Day 52 as a second source of raw materials for the Federation and the Confederacy, Bub`ba was among the experienced, hand-picked CIS veterans brought in to run it. Under their guidance CMC quickly became one of the most efficient mining factions in the Confederacy.

Duceroy

On Year 9 Day 308, Bub`ba was appointed Duceroy of the Trade Federation, succeeding Rand Axim. As Second-in-Command, he was known for his approachability, and many members who joined the Federation during his tenure remember him as the face of its leadership.

His most lasting act as Duceroy came when the Commerce Guild, the Federation's primary mining arm, fell into decline under absent leadership and a dwindling membership. Rather than see the Guild collapse, Duceroy Lou and Viceroy Jansen brokered a merger. Confederate Mining Corporation was dissolved on Year 10 Day 53 and its members and assets were folded into the Commerce Guild, with CMC's CEO Jamaal Newport taking command. The merger restored the Guild as the Federation's premier mining faction and set the course for its operations for over a decade to come.

Bub`ba served as Duceroy until Year 11 Day 202, when he was succeeded by Kage Renbukai.

Regent

Bub`ba later served as Regent of the Trade Federation.

Retirement

Bub`ba eventually retired from the Federation and from galactic affairs. Though he is no longer active, he keeps in touch with old friends from his days in the Federation, and veterans of his era still speak of him with warmth.
