The Rafa System is a star system of the Centrality Sector consisting of the star Rafa, eleven planets and two moons.

Description

The Rafa System has long been known as a desolate star system, with ten of its eleven planets considered desolate wastelands. The planets near the sun are arid barren deserts, and those on the rim of the system are frozen planets with extremely slow orbits.

The oldest settlement in the Rafa System is on Rafa IV, the most pleasant and temperate of the Rafa planets. Gian plastic pyramids dot the landscape of this planet, the ruins of an ancient and long-forgotten civilization. Rafa IV served as the capital of the system for centuries until recent developments on Rafa V.

Rafa is an important trade and mining center for the Trade Federation, with Rafa V serving as the center of its development efforts. Federation authorities recently relocated the sytem government to Rafa V to better accomodate the dramatic shift in population to the colder planet. Under the development program devised by the Ministry of Production, the Rafa System has gone from being a tiny backwater system of passing interest to archaeologists and anthropologists to a bustling center of tourism, finance, mining and transport.

There are meny space stations spread throughout the system, some of which guard Rafa V and Rafa VII, others which secure vital hyperspace trade routes. The stations were constructed and placed as part of the Trade Federation's Sector Defense Initiative overseen by Viceroy Jacob Jansen himself.

There are two moons in the Rafa System, Shadow and Shade. Both orbit Rafa V.
