Kuat Drive Yards, also known as the Department of Naval Production, is the ship production arm of the Trade Federation.
History
Kuat Drive Yards
Founded in Year 5, Kuat Drive Yards thrived under the leadership of Founder and CEO, Lord Myn Kuat for nearly a decade. During this time, he expanded the company to levels never dreamed of. But like all good things, Lord Kuat grew tired of the endless management of the company and decided to move on.
Trade Federation Buys KDY
In an unexpected move, in Year 13, Lord Myn sold the company to Viceroy Jacob Jansen in hopes the Trade Federation could continue leading KDY in his place. As part of the acquisition, the Trade Federation merged KDY with the Techno Union with the aim of consolidating the production of both ships and vehicles under one company.
Kuat Drive Yards Today
As of Year 25, with the regulation of governments and their subfactions was rolled out galaxy-wide, the production of ships and vehicles were separated, accordingly. KDY maintaining ship production, and the recently re-founded Techno Union tasked with the production of the Trade Federation's vehicular needs.
As Kuat Drive Yards settles on its new direction, its new leaders prepare to once again provide services to the public and to live up to the legacy their predecessors set forth many years before.
