Vlasta Zmaj was an O-5 Commander in the Trade Federation's Ministry of the Interior, and former Flight Lead Officer of Team Rum Runners.

History

Vlasta lived a long and prosperous life on Alderaan, rising through the ranks of an intra-system shipping company. A highly diplomatic individual and talented pilot, his supervisors recognized his abilities and placed him in charge of several important tasks to help the company. During his glory years, Vlasta was known as a pilot capable of doing anything with any ship of any kind. It was widely said that the only ships he couldn't fly were those that were not yet invented.

When his company was bought out by a rival, Vlasta was forced to retire in favor of a younger generation of pilots. He determined to sell his home on Alderaan and sign up for a galactic outfit. After making the recruiting rounds, he settled on the Trade Federation.

Older, wiser, and a touch fatter than most other recruits, Vlasta rose quickly through the ranks of the Department of Logistics. His diplomatic skills and friendly demeanor made him an ideal mentor to new recruits, and he was soon placed in command of his own flight group, Team Rum Runners. Unfortunately, the administrative duties took their toll on Vlasta, and he found himself spending less time flying. After a time, he chose to step down from flight team management. After a leave of absence for vacation (on various wildlife safaris around the galaxy), Vlasta returned to the Federation ready again to serve in the ranks of pilots. Today, Vlasta is still flying ships and running cargo for the Federation, doing what he has always done best.
