Character History/Description:

Early Years -16 thru 6

Shor began his life as many modern Duros young, aboard satellite cities orbiting Duro. Born to an militant right-wing upper middle class family Shor's father was obsessed with the strength and resilience of Wookiees, hence his name. Shorurra is synonymous with "Deadly Soldier", "Fierce Captain", or "Lethal Warrior". Shor felt the wanderlust common amongst most Travelers, and he wanted to break free from the rabble rousing rhetoric of his family. On his 18th Birthday, The young man enrolled in the Duro Academy and dedicated himself to becoming an accomplished pilot. He excelled in Deep Space Exploration, Navigation, and Tactical Maneuvers. Shor took to piloting with the ease and joy common to his kin. However while he was accumulating flight hours, Shor was able to bear witness to the devastation the Empire had wrought upon his beloved home-world. It was during the latter half of his education in the Academy that Shor's political views against the Empire began to align with those of his father. He began meeting with members of resistance movements and vowed to one day become the best fighter ace in Duros history.

GE Military Test Pilot Year 7 thru 8

Shor used his excellent standing within the Duros Academy to gain employment with the Galactic Empire's test pilot program and learned the intricacies of all varieties of freighter and fighter/bomber class ships under the command of The Empire. This gave him extensive practical experience relating to piloting but, through flight trials, also began to hone his combat skills. In a rare cross training event, Shor Urra was actually allowed to train at the Imperial Academy and use his expertise in long range navigation to aid in the instruction of scout and high level transport pilots in hyperspace navigation. Shor's hopes of seeing combat as a TIE pilot were quickly ended however when he was informed, rather harshly, that The Empire had no intention of using him for anything more than information. A scholar at heart, Shor would spend all of his free time in the test pilot record halls slicing technical information in an attempt to create a dossier on current and future Imperial ships, formations, maneuvers, and protocols. He had accumulated a rather vast amount of intel, at this point his only concern was how to use it to create the greatest impact... the most damage. Shor decided to separate from the program before the ever increasing scrutiny led to his capture.

Consultant Work Year 9 thru 10

Upon learning of The Rebellion, Shor was eager to lend his knowledge and expertise in the hopes that one day he may see The Empire fall. As a consultant with the Rebellion Shor finally began to see the fruits of his labor, only now did he realize that his personal vendetta would best be realized by utilizing the strength of others... he needed numbers. Realizing the fact that his body was beginning to age, he understood that this would be his ultimate calling. Shor gave the Rebels every bit of knowledge he had gained, and showed them every trick he had learned. Hundreds of lead flight officers would come to train under him and in turn take their knowledge back to their squadrons to share. The Duro worked constantly, tirelessly, or so he thought. A year and a half into his contract work for groups involved with the Galactic Alliance, a year and a half of 90 - 120 hour weeks, Shor's body finally fought back. The next few months would begin a vicious downward spiral that would eventually land the ace pilot in the infirmary, on bed rest, and under the counsel of a therapist. It was time to take a step back and let the next generation step up, and Shor made his exist into quasi-retirement.

Avancian Career Year 11 thru 13

Shor had recently come back into contact with an old acquaintance of his during his recovery with the GA. Rick Stormchaser gave him an opportunity to seek out a new life. A quiet life away from the danger and health hazards associated with military life. Rick invited the Duro to join him in Czerka Corp, the nationalized mining faction of the Avance Coalition. Shor bought it would be a good way to clear his head and reassess. Plus, the credits didn't hurt. Working felt good, and honest quiet work gave Shor time to reflect on his decisions and the future direction of his life. Eventually, Shor would work his way up the ladder gaining more experience and trust resulting in taking the reins of Czerka as its 1IC.

During his early time with Czerka, Shor was assigned to Basilisk. It was a filthy, ashen planet covered in rock and lava. It was also hot, and Shor hated the heat. However, from time to time he would catch a glimpse of heavily armored men, distinctively armored men. He would later come to understand these men were Mandalorian's, remnants of a time when they had conquered the planet who now wandered the Galaxy in search of glory, combat... and bounties. He didn't think much of it at the time, but men such as these would soon come to play a major role in the Duro's life.

Clan Ky'Bris was a Mandalorian Clan who made their home in the Avance Coalition's territory. It was an independent Clan who felt none were worthy of the title Mand'alor and thus followed their own Clan Father or Aliit'buir. The Clan's second father, Navik Ikron, and an ambassador from Clan Vhetin, Con Semper, would bring out the true nature of Shor's personality. Trained by these men, and with the guidance and example of others within the Clan such as Jaydon TaVolarian, Calyx Zion, Kara Ikron, and Dinek Komad Shor would learn a new sense of self and community. He would become a skilled warrior, an aggressive fighter, and put those skills to use in the protection of his family and those in need. Shor worked hard to abide by the Supercommando Codex of the True Mandalorians and live the Resol'nare every day. His father would have been proud.

Concurrently, Shor also sought out new friends and family in the southern portion of the Outer Rim. His friend Rick introduced him to Avance's House system, and Shor's enrollment was encouraged by his Academy instructor Varro Kaar who consequently interviewed Shor for admittance into the House. Avance was nice, full of great people, but House Valeo was where Shor spent most of his free time. It was a group of light hearted an likeminded beings and Shor fit right in. A few of his friends from the Clan were there, and a great many of his coworkers from Czerka as well. The House provided Shor with projects, socializing, fun and relaxation, and even a few extra credits.

Shor managed an intense workload for Czerka, and eventually, his old habits returned. Shor was taking on assignments that should have been spread over three to five beings. He worked constantly, again... it was unhealthy. Then something amazing happened. During a random Force Test, Shor's results came back positive. It was something he never expected. How many Force Sensitive Duros were flying around the Galaxy? Contemplating his newfound abilities, and his overbearing workload, Shor began once again to make an exit from an influential position with lucrative compensation in the hopes of 'finding his identity'. Shor would eventually train one of his best friends in Avance to take over his role as head of Czerka, Dro Siphodias.

Upon his retirement, Shor moved to a security faction with a history of nurturing Force development free of dogmatic light versus dark debates. A faction who's ideals closely aligned with those of his Mandalorian Clan. Shor joined the Jensaarai where he trained to quickly achieve the rank of Jen'jidai'ari. He loved it, but his time here would be short lived. Avance needed him once again.

Arklari Clise, owner of Golan Technologies and then leader of Avance, had a staffing problem within Golan. He had one very solid worker and a few others whose activity ebbed between flurries and stagnation. He needed someone to lead the faction and asked Shor to leave the Jensaarai to help him bolster his faction. Shor reluctantly agreed. Here Shor could see the promise in Paul Luz. Shor also developed a series of contacts and connections to the arms trade, another lucrative series of contracts began to develop. It would not last though. Shor tired of the life of a business man, no matter how great he was at it. He longed for the freedom the life of a mercenary or bounty hunter. His focus, once again, turned to finding himself. Over the course of the next several months, Shor would disappear from all those he had come to know and love.

Ba'slan Shev'la [Strategic Disappearance] Year 14 thru 16

After the intensity with which Shor attacked his business responsibilities, and the devastating incident on Timora, Shor knew he needed to reprioritize. Within Ky'bris he had developed a large army. Within his faction and House work, Shor had developed a small (by some standards) fortune. But it was too much for just one being to handle on their own. It was during this time that Shor focused on what made him happiest. Training and learning. He would take his seven best soldiers to create his Ori'Ramikad or Supercommando squad. Each member would spend the next two years training together. Physical fitness, marksmanship, tactics, survival skills, and combat medicine would form their baseline. They learned to work as a unit, and also perfected their skills solo. The following year each member would also train in a specialty while maintaining their original skill set and practice. Communications, demolitions, piloting, and so on. Shor focused on the Force, though training was slow without a Master to work with and no lightsaber to practice with. Those who did not make the cut into the unit would still train in the hopes of being called up as it were. These men would become the backbone of the Valean Marshall's service enforcing law and order in the Wazta sector.

Additionally, Shor would bring scientists and curators of priceless artifacts aboard his ship. He and his men would study history and technology in an effort to better themselves mentally as well as physically. There were a great many ancient secrets scattered throughout the Galaxy. Some would prove benign, some terrible, some great. His connections made during his time with the Duro High House as well as an arms dealer with Golan provided several avenues for the acquisition of priceless artifacts. Protecting, preserving, and understanding these artifacts is now headed by a team of experts and scholars aboard his home among the stars.

Trade Federation Career Year 17

Shor's self-inflicted removal from galactic affairs apparently occurred at a rather peculiar time. Avance ceased to exist, as did his beloved Jensaarai. His Clan fell to ruin as did their home on Timora. The sector of space his House maintained and developed had been reduced to a system, and even then House Valeo fell to ruin from inactivity and risked dissolution. Rick had managed to locate Shor in deep space, training with his team. His old friend informed him of the epic changes that had happened and hoped Shor would come back into the fold to help rebuild House Valeo. Realizing he never formally left Golan Technologies, Shor set about assessing his options for employment and tried to figure out the best place to put himself to help his friend, and his House. That path led him to Rendily Stardrive, a company he worked for only briefly during his time with Avance.

Clan Cabur / The Guardian Angels / Ghost Fleet

Notable Mission Inclusions:

  • Hostage Rescue of Hirani Komad
  • Battle of Timora
  • Pacification of Pancath Reach

Shor has always maintained some level of security presence. The earliest iteration was the Ghost Fleet which began simply as a YV-666 and four Chir'daki Deathseeds. This group for Shor into more trouble than it should have, but they also assisted him in coming to the aid of his friend and Clan mate's sister when she was kidnapped. The Ghost Fleet lasted for almost two years and was dissolved/reformed only after the Battle of Timora where Shor's second in command, a Wookiee named Titus, gave his life when he crashed its flagship into the surface while desperately trying to give the ship's support staff time to evacuate. Luckily he was the only casualty. In the days immediately proceeding the event, Shor assumed he did not have the numbers to respond to any situation the Clan needed him for. Around this time he also became infected by the Derra Virus which mutated his genome to give him traits and features of a Diathim, but not completely. The addition of wings and telepathic communication were all that seemed to manifest, and Shor could not discern whether the telepathy was a result of the virus, or further attunement with the Force.

The Guardian Angels were formed as a massive fleet. MTCs carrying a host of transports. Med-Neb / Corona groups for relief efforts. The Four Horsemen, a quartet of Marauders loaded with Firesprays for heavy air support, the Judges were five squads of PESs intended for use in the Marshall's Service, squads of fighters, and the list went on. It became lumbering mess that was rarely used. So many 'soldiers' had to be hired to operate it all that the overall quality of their training suffered dramatically. Shor's coping led to overcompensation and he put himself into a rather familiar spot.

At the onset of his Ba'slan Shev'la, Shor liquidated the vast majority of his fleet. All he kept were the Judges, a Lictor, his C-3, and a handful of transports. He kept be best, brightest, and most capable thirty men from his armada to train along side him. This small group would come to form his own family, his own Clan, Clan Cabur fashioned after True Mandalorian Supercommandos and the Journeymen Protectors. His seven ori'ramikad would form his Vode Hukkatir, or Brothers of Protection while the remainders were sent to hone their skills in the Marshall's service in protection of the Oko system.

The primary objective of this new Clan is to provide protection and justice to the good and honorable beings of the galaxy should they come under attack from bandits and marauders. Their secondary objective is to hunt down and destroy all members of Clan Varad who orchestrated the events during the Battle of Timora.
