Stamia is a gas giant located in the Taanab System. It is the largest planet in the system. Ever since its discovery Stamia has proven hazardous to the colonizers, researchers, and miners who have attempted to explore it. Stamia's atmosphere is comprised of high concentrations of Ethmane, Nangol Gas, and Lethane, all off which have been shown to interfere with most scanning and sensor system. This combination of gasses has made navigation of Stamia anywhere from prohibitively difficult to practically impossible. Radio transmitters have been in place for centuries to warn travelers away from the potential dangers, and navigational beacons have been set up to guide ambitious miners and explorers through the regions that have already been charted. A planetary shield system is also in place to keep safeguard travelers from the planet's hazardous conditions. Stamia is relatively unpopulated. Its entire population resides in an ancient station in the small, charted region of the upper atmosphere, inhabited by the shield system's technicians and a modest mining operation.
