The exotic looking Sheathipede-class Transport Shuttle is an older passenger shuttle widely used in the pre-Imperial era. Its distinctive, large dorsal wing leads some to believe that the ubiquitous Lambda-class Shuttle was influenced by the design of the Sheathipede. The Sheathipede has a serviceable hyperdrive motivator which allows relatively fast travel between systems, although its underpowered sublight engines often make the beginnings and endings of journeys longer than its passengers would like.
Sheathipede-class transport shuttles are defenseless with weak shields and thin armor. As such, Sheathipede shuttles tend to be used in low-risk areas in well-settled systems.
