Early Years
Otto Kipler was born on the planet of Cerea to a wealthy and upstanding family. His father Ki-Arim Kipler served on the Council of Elders and Otto received anything and everything that he ever wanted. Otto lived in Tecave City growing up, and was trained in all of the classical and modern practices. As customary to his race, learning was no issue to him, as his enlarged cranial region and brain made his intelligence well above average compared to humans.
Later in his life, Otto did not find the life set before him to be the one in which he wanted to follow. He found no pleasure in serving in local government as his father did; he sought adventure. He found that adventure in joining the Falleen Navy. He had no military experience or training, but he found the prospect of piloting space vessels and going into battle something riveting and worth pursuing. Upon joining as a lowly Petty Officer, Otto worked hard in all aspects of his work. Over time, he grew in his responsibilities and after five years of service to the Falleen Federation, he was promoted to Rear Admiral and given command of an entire Naval Fleet. He, eventually, was also knighted within the federation, making him quite the up and coming officer.
Serving the Trade Federation
It was only at that time did he begin to find discontent within his current condition and posting. His dream of adventure and becoming a Naval officer had come true, but the faction in which he had served no longer felt like home to him. He began to disagree with decisions of the high command, and felt that he could no longer be a part of his former command. After much thinking and anguish, Otto left the Falleen Federation and took a hiatus from the military. After almost a year, Kipler has been brought to a new and exciting place in his career - the Trade Federation.
Upon joining, he was assigned to the 2nd (Orus) Fleet of the Trade Federation Navy, under the command of Rear Admiral Han Ethan. He served diligently through the enlisted ranks and was soon promoted up to the Officer rank of Senior Flight Sergeant. It was then that he was offered the positions of Fleet Second-in-Command (XO) and Commander of the Kloper system. He accepted these roles and was slotted into the Fleet Chain of Command. Since then, Otto has assisted in the leadership of the Fleet, and has watched the Orus Fleet develop into a formidable fighting force.
After another few months of tireless work, Otto was elevated to the rank of Commander.
About 2 months after being elevated to Commander, Han Ethan, the sitting CO of the 2nd Fleet, chose to transfer to the Ministry of the Interior, leaving the position open. Otto was chosen, by Minister Siraloth Xivah, to replace him; he was promoted to Rear Admiral as well.
A few months after achieving the position of Orus Fleet CO, Otto was promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral, along with being give a seat on the Directorate. This was a high honor for Otto, as it was a personal goal of his since joining the Federation.
Shortly after his promotion to Vice Admiral, Otto found himself, again, the target of another promotion; this time to Deputy Minister of Defense. Otto was shocked and amazed that he had been chosen, after only being a member of the Trade Federation for a year, to serve as the next Deputy Minister of Defense, taking the place of Alan Arcane, who had been recently promoted to Minister of Defense.
Otto served some time with the Dept of the Ext Affairs, the Trade Federation's diplomatic arm, achieving the rank of Envoy. This allowed Otto to work with other sentients around the galaxy in working towards common goals that will aid both the Trade Federation and other factions.
Otto highly enjoyed working with this department, and was sad to see it go, but chose to walk away, as his time and focus was needed in the Ministry of Defense.
Department of Admissions
Otto was accepted into the Department of Admissions by, then, Minister of the Interior Nohv Schiller. Otto has taken on the role of Admissions Officer. He is tasked with accepted/rejecting new applicants, and screening them to see if they are worthy to join the Trade Federation. He also oversees the process of training new recruits all the way until they reach their Ministry position.
Life after the Derra Virus
Otto was struck, suddenly with the dangerous and deadly Derra virus. He fell deathly ill for short time but was able to, with the help of the Trade Federation Medical Department, recover fully. Unfortunately, due to the symptoms of this illness, Otto emerged a Hapan man; no longer the Cerean that all of his peers knew. It was a difficult transition for him, but he has learned to adjust and live with is differences now.
House Derycke
Upon speaking with Neria Derycke: old friend and leader of House Derycke, Otto decided to join the House as a 'Friend'. He seeks to further communication and relations with the House, and to help in any way possible with broadening its scope and impact throughout the galaxy.
