Childhood

Soldar was born to parents who considered themselves missionaries of The Sacred Way. It was for this reason that Soldar was not born on Kiffex as most Kiffar are. His parents had rejected the Culture of the Kiffar in favor of the pacifistic view of The Sacred Way. He was born on the planet of Reecee at the beginning of his parent’s twenty year missionary stay there. Life on Reecee was tough for young Soldar as the planet is sparsely populated and there was only one other Kiffar that he ever saw. As a result, he did not make many friends he could relate to. This lack of social interaction and other parental interference that tried to remove any natural Kiffar instincts caused him to become rather lonely and unnaturally timid. He grew up following his parent’s religion and they taught him with the intent to pass on the priestly duties, most important being the Burial Rite. He was not raised in the traditional Kiffar method, but more akin to how most Coruscanti raise their children. Because of his parent’s rejection of the Kiffar, Soldar never learned about Qukuuf or his true Kiffar clan name, which remains a mystery to this day.

Adolescence and Early Adulthood

As Soldar grew, his parents taught him more and more about the Sacred Way. On his 14th birthday, he was deemed ready to perform his first Burial Rite. At the time, it was a great responsibility and honour to Soldar. Despite a few mistakes, the Rite was performed successfully. As the next few years went by, Soldar grew and learned more and more about his parent’s religion.

However, an incident in year 7 caused his world to crack. Soldar was out doing a routine supply trip to the nearest city when a fight broke out in the hanger as he was parking his family speeder. It appeared to be a Kiffar in his 30’s was in a brawl with an Aqualish. Being a pacifist, Soldar wanted to avoid the brawl as much as possible, but the sight of another Kiffar in 17 years caused him to stick around until the local authorities broke up the brawl. The other Kiffar noticed Soldar immediately and approached him asking questions about his clan and lack of Qukuuf. While he was answering the questions, Soldar noticed this particular Kiffar had a red tattoo on his right cheek that swirled around up to his forehead. As it turned out, this Kiffar was a trader for his clan back on Kiffex and only stopped at Reecee for an emergency repair. As much as Soldar hated it at the time, the Kiffar took pity on Soldar and gave him 1 million credits for his own ship so that he could learn what it truly meant to be Kiffar. As he was leaving, he shared some private words with Soldar that started a change.

The next few months were difficult for Soldar to say the least. Since the encounter with the other Kiffar, Soldar no longer had interest in his parent’s religion. He researched his heritage, and became silently bitter towards his parents for denying him his heritage and culture. Everything came to a head one night when his parents asked him to perform another Burial Rite and Soldar refused. Confused, his parents asked why and all the bitterness Soldar had been holding in spilled out. Later that night, he asked a neighbor to give him a ride to the nearest spaceport. He took only the essentials, and the 1 million credits he had been given. He managed to purchase a junky Cloakshape/H fighter fittingly named Phoenix that was barely space-worthy. He was free. For the first time in his life, Soldar could do what he wanted. The first place he went to was Kiffex in an attempt to learn about his culture and heritage. Not knowing what clan he belonged to, he stayed with various clans for the next few years until he decided it was time to move on, and so he left Kiffex for Coruscant. It was there on his 25th birthday that he had a clan tattoo of his own design applied to his face and he began looking for work.

Trade Federation Career

On Year 15, day 31, Soldar officially joined the Trade Federation after being recruited by Jack Hildor. In an attempt to overcome his parent’s upbringing and personal weaknesses, he joined the Ministry of Defense and was assigned to Orus Fleet. His first real friend was his commander Alastor Kelma who unfortunately left the TF shortly after Soldar joined. So far, his career has been a whirlwind of activity, consistently being promoted every month since joining.

On Year 15 Day 152, along with his promotion to Senior Flight Sergeant, Baylor was giving the position as Relatta Task-force XO, taking the position from Jeb Voorhees who assumed the position of Relatta Task-force CO on the same day.
