Character:

Dred Oodoov hails from the Nautolan homeworld; generally a serious person by nature she is inclined to let her actions speak for her rather than mere words. She hates being in the public eye and prefers to focus on working away from the limelight and helping wherever help is needed. Although she rose through the ranks of Avancian Society and was bestowed with the honorary title of Lady and Protectress of Abregado Rae; she was happiest with a cheroot in the corner of her mouth sitting in the sweat filled cabin of a Wrecker while it bucked and kicked under her like a scalded Rancor. Those that know her well, know that there is a deep sadness beneath her enthusiastic exterior, it haunts her to this day and drives her to the point of exhaustion.

History:

She arrived by Wraith transport on Sanyassa and the place was never the same since. She spent her first year in Avance travelling to all corners of the galaxy collecting recruits, piloted every ship that she could get seat time in. Although initially making the "wrong" sorts of friends she found many kindred spirits and soon became a bit of a social butterfly amongst the less than socially acceptable sentients of the galaxy. Although she held old fashioned ideals and values and abhors premeditated violence she has never hesitated to put herself in harms way for others. She has been known to deal ruthlessly with those that encroach on her personal space or offend her sense of order and calm.

Initially based in Moddell Sector she did whatever jobs took her fancy. She piloted, built, mined, recycled with equal zeal and ability. Being notoriously fickle and with a very short attention span she could just as easily be found in wrecker recycling a building as wandering over some distant planet looking for an obscure item that was currently of interest to her. In between learning every job she could, she discovered that she loved to trade and would always try to find a way to turn a chance meeting into something that was mutually beneficial to both parties.

She is rumoured to own a substantial fleet of ships that she keeps busy with her never ending trading and personal business. For Dreds though, the credits that trade generated were not about a number, but rather about what she could do with them, and who she could help with those credits. She invested significant credits in the "Claw of the Conciliator" a modified L-500 liner that was adapted for her role as humanitarian and envoy for the Avance Coalition. Rumours are that the capital ship is fitted with modified hyperdrives and is exceptionally speedy, even beating a YT2000 while responding to a distress signal. Confirmed facts are that an entire deck of the "Claw" has been set aside for medical treatment and includes Bacta Tanks for healing grievously wounded sentients as well as a huge contingent of medical droids and Kaminoan medics for more demanding treatment regimes. Ever a realist though Dred has also ensured that the "Claw" is also well armed against casual threats and fully capable of protecting the medical contingent against most forms of assault. Security for her humanitarian and medical intervention teams and the ship itself is rumoured to include a combination of ECM, ATPTs, Stormtroopers, battle droids and wookiee rifleman.

The Wraiths

Dred originally joined The Wraiths so that she could leave her past behind and become an anonymous face in the mercenary faction. She worked hard receiving a honorary graduation from the academy and immersed herself in diverse missions. Although she enjoyed the company, an incident with a Sith padwan made her realise her mortality and question a lot of things in her life. She resigned and joined the Avance Coalition as a trainer at their Academy. In addition to her role as trainer she continued to function as Special Envoy to The Wraiths.

Avance Coalition

Working as trainer allowed Dred to follow her passion for discovery and she explored the galaxy while collecting recruits. She flew anything she could get a pilot slot on and she was captivated by the lure of deep space and the endless worlds to find and explore. Her trading expanded further and she began consulting for non-faction groups that needed a more business like approach in order to be profitable. As her reputation grew, she began to invest in business ventures all over the galaxy and as her wealth accumulated she set her sights higher and began to consult and assist factions becoming more efficient and profitable. Training recruits, trading and adventuring occupied Dred's every waking moment until she was asked to join the newly formed Black Dust Industries.

Black Dust Industries

BDI was an opportunity for Dred to step out from the shadows and put her talents to use as she strove to make BDI as efficient as possible. She had the pleasure of working with the likes of Ariana Kahlil, Wrec Soyak, Zephlin Abath, Geiac Vastar and a host of other workers that helped place the faction on the map. She was promoted to Faction leader but her business mind never stopped ticking. Looking at the galaxy one night she dropped her glass of wine, alerted her faction to standby for immediate departure and placed one of the largest materials orders seen in Avance. By midday all where in hyper to carefully selected co-ordinates. As the clock hit H hour she co-ordinated four tasks teams and began a carefully choreographed accelerated building program that netted control of the Entire Kanchen sector bringing their citizens under the protection of the Avance Coalition. After gaining control of the sector nothing could hold her attention and nothing challenged her abilities and she became restless. In time she knew she could no longer lead and had to move on, it was with a heavy heart that she left BDI in order to pursue other more challenging opportunities within Avance.

Avance Coalition Diplomatic Corps

Combining her business and strategic thinking abilities she moved into the Diplomatic Corps where she handled some minor negotiations and progressed to hold the rank of Pro-Consol of the Diplomatic Corps.

Freelance and a return to Avance

Having negotiated a number of trade and political deals she decided to leave the public eye and pursue some private ventures following the acquisition of a hidden system. Working mainly freelance she steadily built up contacts and assets while also running her own consultancy for factions and governments in trouble. It was during this time period that one of her ex employees in BDI betrayed his oath and defecting to the Eidolan Pirates shut down all the power generators within the system.

Extracted from the official Holocron records of the great betrayal.....

Tucked away in the Moddell sector lies a pair of cold, unforgiving planets known as Pzech and Pzat. Once owned and colonized by Black Dust Industries and the Avance Coalition, these planets would become the focal point of one sentient’s desire to betray his people and another’s desire to restore honor. Borr Fedick was Second in Command of Black Dust Industries and had become frustrated with the lack of direction his company was taking. Borr became disinterested in the seemingly narrow minded vision of the group’s future and eventually began to look elsewhere to further his career and quench his thirst for adventure. It was during this time of unrest that Borr met Teniel Djo, a crafty Eidolan pirate who wished to establish holdings in the Moddell sector. Preparation

The two met secretly several times and eventually hatched a plan to rip the two planets from BDI and Avance before either group knew what had happened. The plan involved Borr using his upper management privileges to assign power generator’s to Eta Vek, an Eidolan who would in turn dismantle the facilities from the inside out. In return for his efforts Borr was promised a prominent role with the Eidolans. Battle

With the plan in place the group acted quickly as Eta slipped through light security on Pzech and easily unpowered many facilities. At the same time, Borr scrambled on Pzat to deactivate as many generators as he could. This coordinated effort allowed the two to quickly sabotage the planets cities and caused much chaos and confusion amongst the inhabitants.

Eta was assigned the task of establishing a secret base on Pzech with the assistance of Diabolus`ut Persolvo. Diabolus led a team of builders and a convoy of ships full of resources to the surface to immediately build up the Eidolan defense of the planet. Borr and Teniel attempted to do the same on Pzat, and the small team of pirates wasted no time in building temporary bases on both planets.

By this time Avance forces had been notified and word quickly spread. It wasn’t long before a Nautolan by the name of Dred Oodoov received word what had occurred. Although officially on leave from Avance to pursue personal business interests, Lady Oodoov was shocked at the news. She had personally built up and prospected much of both planets, and also laid to rest many close friends in that system. She soon vowed to return to Avance temporarily to lend her leadership skills and restore order to the Sector.

Avance eventually fought back on Pzech with a task force led by Lady Oodoov, who was able to reestablish power at many of their bases and immediately began coordinating a counterattack. Dred was able to secretly build a base complete with shield generators in an effort to trap and eradicate the Eidiolans and prevent further Eidolan support into the atmosphere. Borr narrowly slipped through the atmosphere just as the shield generators were activated, but Diabolus was too late. He lay stranded on Pzech for months, barely surviving as he ran from Avance security forces day and night. Eventually, Diabolus was able to shake Avance security forces and was reported missing. Although Avance Security sources reported that Diabolus was captured, Eidola denies this statement. The exact whereabouts of Diabolus to this day are uncertain. After a few months Lady Oodoov was able to starve out the remaining Eidolans and restored peace to Pzech.

While Avance focused on Pzech and the Eidiolans realized they were outnumbered, the pirates shifted their efforts to Pzat. At one point a reporter observed that Eidolan had held 28 different facilities, with only 3 Avance bases remaining. Despite their overwhelming force, underground Avance teams working secretly with Pzat citizens were able to arrest and execute hundreds of Eidolan builders. This secret task force continuously harassed the pirates and refused to let go of their remaining holdings on Pzat. The Eidolans would not be outdone, however, and after a year of pouring in countless builders and resources the Eidolans fully gained control of Pzat.

Aftermath

As a reward for his efforts, Borr was appointed Eidolan Quartermaster of the Moddell sector. Borr continued to develop Pzat and even gave his new cities unique names to spite the Avance people, such as “Pzat is now Eidolan Turf” and “I can’t help it, Eidola pays better”. He was eventually named Quartermaster to another sector, and his current whereabouts are unknown.

Lady Oodoov was true to her word and returned to her private business after the battle ended. Although content that she was able to restore stability to Pzech, the loss of Pzat clearly weighs on her heart. As she would later state in an exclusive interview, “Borr Fedick’s actions were an offence to the free society and open constitution that Avance espouses.”

The turning away

Dred had joined the operation under the banner of a externally contracted freelance mercenary faction and the fight for Pzat and Pzob had been mind numbingly tiring. As the fight intensified and the extent of the betrayal became more obvious, Dred became drivento hold the planet at all costs as she had buried one of her closest friends in one of its lush valleys. With growing anger and frustration she drew her glaives and waded into a group of Squall Chitose's builders that had been elluding every arrest attempt for three days. It was with the dawning light and blood dripping from her glaives that she finally stopped, surveying the corpses of three hundred of his employees. Wiping her blood stained glaives she knew she had crossed a line and that no matter how she argued her case she would never be able to occupy any official position of responsibility with Avance ever again. Clambering onboard her Bayo she lifted off from the planet surface and left Avancian space for good. While she still kept cordial relations with Avance and undertook work for them outside of their borders she was never able to return. As a way of punishing herself, she joined a shockball team as an enforcer but found to her horror that she actually enjoyed the brutality of the sport. Once again she had to leave something that she enjoyed as she felt like she was losing her values and her very life force.

A new beginning

With Avance being incorporated into the Trade Federation and her no longer being subjected to Avancian Law, Dred saw the slim possibility of being accepted once again.... of starting fresh.... and leaving behind the biggest mistake she had made. Besides... they had some shiny wreckers and some EV droids..... maybe just maybe she could go back to where she had been happy.
