History

Background

The only lung-less son of an obscure and outcast branch of the Royal Family that rules his home world of Gand, Bosco Plixt believed from an early age this future lay off-planet. Gand society places heavy importance on the achievements of an individual and holds that an individual has no name, and thus no worth, until he proves otherwise. Young or unproven Gands are all called "Gand" as they are considered merely aspects of the same whole. Major accomplishments earn the use of a family surname. Plixt earned the use of the family name not through demonstrating the traditional gifts of a findsman, but a variant ability to anticipate the actions of others and accurately anticipate the outcome of pressing situations. These abilities served him well as a pilot, allowing him to master the operation of all manner of starships.

Bosco Plixt earned the right to use first-person pronouns after many feats and accomplishments and the ritual aptitude test, the Januwine-jika, when the Elders of Gand commanded that Plixt appear before the ruetsavii - a group of Gands who were renowned through their own accomplishments and therefore considered able to judge the deeds of others. In this, Bosco Plixt became himself januwine and was appointed a member of the reutsavii.

Realizing, however, that despite having accomplished so much his station in the monarchy would allow him to rise no further, Bosco Plixt took to the stars.

The Trade Federation and Department of Justice

After circumnavigating the galaxy, observing and absorbing the cultures of all manner of sentients and learning the ways of the many factions the populate the Combine, Bosco Plixt was drawn to the Trade Federation and its reputation for excellence, honor and singleness of purpose: profit through trade. As an accomplished pilot, Bosco Plixt was welcomed into the Department of Logistics, and proved himself worthy of rapid promotion through the ranks.

His superiors recognized that his aptitudes suggested something more than practiced ability guided Plixt's actions. His Gandian ability of foresight set him apart from others, and made him useful to the Federation in other areas. After extensive deliberations by Viceroy Jacon Jansen and his Cabinet, Bosco Plixt was deemed worthy of the position of Chief Justice to the Trade Federation, and in early Year 11, GST, was appointed to that position, making him head of the Department of Justice.

Bosco Plixt faithfully serves the Federation in that capacity, but given his affinity for travel and flight, continues to assist the Department of Logistics as an occasional pilot.
