Manta Birostris is the 1st Surgeon General of the Trade Federation

Youth

Manta Birostris was born on the ocean world of Manaan. As a boy, he was apprenticed to Selkath healers, utilizing the sacred kolto plant. The kolto plant had a long history on Manaan, earning Selkath healers their respect. Manta revered the work of his ancestors and studied the kolto.

During the Galactic Civil War, Manaan was occupied by the Galactic Empire. Selkath healers had been smuggling kolto to the Rebellion. The Empire enslaved the Selkaths and forced them to harvest kolto for them.

After a few years, Emperor Drayson realized that there were Force-sensitive Selkath living among the population of Manaan. The Emperor assigned a dark agent to massacre the Force sensitive Order of Shasa. Manta’s father was killed in the massacre.

After the Battle of Endor the Empire left Manaan. Manaan later joined the New Republic, and produced many Jedi knights from the survivors of the Order of Shasa. Kolto was again spread through the galaxy. Manta took the first ship off Manaan and headed for Farrfin.

Career

Manta, now of professional age, attended a medical university and graduated with flying colors. His natural instinct for healing allowed him to excel to the top of his class. His ingenuity attracted the attention of Troon Kebris, a member of Ailon Nova Guard who recruited him in the Ailon Nova Guard. After going through ANG Pilot Academy, he earned his Recruit Pilot status. This was a proud moment for Manta. While not the most prosperous of jobs, Manta felt proud nonetheless.

After a few years as a pilot, Manta was pursued and hired by Mettuh Lupus to fly for the Akheton Corporation Logistics. During his tenure he achieved the rank of Vice-President.

Manta was approached by then-Baktoid Armour Workshop President Gadon Trammer. Trammer acknowledged Manta’s craftsmanship, and wanted Manta to work with producing items. With a heavy heart, but best wishes from Akheton, Manta left and moved on to work for BAW as a Foreman. As the years passed, President Trammer moved to other ventures and BAW VP Metyl Onyx was promoted to President.

It was a great honor for Manta to be working under legendary and exalted Metyl Onyx (now Trade Federation's Director of Production). Manta studied the skills of Onyx, and learned much about communication, leadership and dedication.

Manta was the Master Foreman for the Department of Manufacturing and continued to help and learn from Director Onyx and his deputy, the legendary Duchess Jeeva Ob.

Eventually Manta was transferred to the Ministry of the Interior where he stayed under the command of Metyl Onyx, who at this time, managed to make it to Director of Industry. In time, Manta became responsible for the creation of a medical infrastructure to aid in treating wounded TF personnel from future military endeavors.

Upon completion of this assignment, Viceroy Jacob Jansen assigned Manta as the First Surgeon General of the Trade Federation, where Manta continues to serve to this day.
