Flight Teams are groups of pilots headed by C-rank officers, called Flight Lead Officers. Flight Teams are coordinated by the CFLO(s), who assign pilots to various missions. Flight Lead Officers ensure that the missions are carried out in a timely fashion by their pilots. They offer support to their team, help them with red tape, and offer any guidance they can.

Coordinating Flight Lead Officer

CFLOs directly manage the Flight Lead Officers, and fill-in for a FLO when they are on LoA. They distribute new pilots to the Flight Teams, keep the "Graveyard" up to date, and assist the DDL & DL with ship assignments. CFLOs are the next point of contact when a Pilot's FLO is unavailable. Like FLOs, CFLOs are mentors (to FLOs and other Pilots) and fly the "secret" or more sensitive missions. Min/Max Rank: Chief Officer upon appointment, promoted up to Fleet Captain (C-3 to C-5).

Flight Lead Officer

FLOs manage a team of 1-5 Logistics Officers. Responsibilities include: mission follow-ups, fielding general questions posed by direct-reports, keeping records of their pilots' activity (active/AWOL/LoA), etc. A FLO is a mentor to his direct reports, but still flies missions as a Logistics Officer does (though these may be "secret" or more sensitive missions). Min/Max Rank: Commander upon appointment, promoted up to Chief Officer.

Former Flight Team Officers and Their Teams

The following section preserves the record of the Federation’s former flight teams, their leaders, their members, and the unique legacy each left behind. These teams stand as testaments to the dedication, camaraderie, and operational excellence that defined their service. They are milestones in the long history of the Federation’s military and cultural traditions, serving both as a source of institutional memory and a reminder of the esprit de corps that has carried the Federation through every era.

In earlier years, every flight team carried its own visual identity. Distinctive logos were proudly displayed, and before the Department of Holotech developed the modern Identification Badge and Signature Management System, each team designed custom “team bar” images for use in member forum signatures. These artifacts were as much a mark of belonging as they were a rallying banner; they were symbols of pride, unity, and the shared mission of their crews.

Credit is formally accorded to Hartroff Parmenion for his exceptional dedication and scholarly rigor in undertaking the Archaeological Investigations of Federation History project, through which he painstakingly excavated the archival record to recover and restore the historic flight team logos now displayed with honor in the section below. Below is Parmenion's words on the project:

Many years ago, the Logistics Department was home to numerous Flight Teams. At the time, their logos were typically designed by FLOs. Since AI-assisted design tools didn’t exist back then, those old designs would now be considered "old school."

Well before the old TF forum was shut down, I saved all the logos I could find for a surprise project I was working on—Archaeological Investigations in Trade Federation History. I never had the chance to bring that project to life, but maybe one day I’ll approach the topic in a different way.

Back then, I managed to collect a total of twenty Flight Team logos. Usually, no more than three or four teams were active at any given time. The first thing I did after gaining access to the archive records was to preserve these historical logos.

I’d like to share them here, in hopes of helping you revisit some memories. Some of these logos are so old that today, only a handful of people might still remember anything about those Flight Teams.
