==General information==
Nouane is a cold planet with a toxic atmosphere. Its revolution around primary sun is 732 days long, resulting in almost non existent atmospheric currents which, in turn, keeps the planetary temperature between -80 degrees Celsius during night periods and -10 degrees Celsius during day periods. Locals have established a 72-hour day, which results in a 36-hour long night period. An axis tilt of 4 degrees gives Nouane stability during seasons, but summer to an Alderaanian might not seem so warm on Nouane, with summer temperatures reaching topmost at -3 degrees Celsius during day period.
General population counts a little over five million as of date 17.098 with government employment being the main preoccupation; government military facilities, along with administrative branch, employ almost ninety percent of the working population

==Geography and climate==
As a cold toxic planet, Nouane offers little to see for tourists; volcanoes meld into ice, with small patches of tough shrubbery accustomed to processing extensive amount of methane and nitrogen, predominant elements in its atmosphere. Vegetation is thriving in the  border areas between ice and volcanos, especially Gaunto trees, which are heavily dependent on absorbing nitrogen by-products derived from nitrogen cycle.
Vast icy plains span from pole to pole with an extensive volcano network in the equator region, spanning southwards. Water vapor, along with carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, released from the volcanoes supplement the gases naturally found in the atmosphere, thus creating the constant barrier for emitted heat from the primary sun and keeping the planet's temperature below zero degrees Celsius, much like a constant ice-age.

==History==
Planet was colonized by Trade Federation since 02.098. Early colonists were employed in establishing strong military presence along with a decisive military defense plan, making sure that the planet remains in Federation hands. Pirate raids were a constant threat with a virgin planet like Nouane and early settlers had to have a great deal of courage and resolve to remain and fight for their way of life. Shield generators and various types of planetary-based turbo lasers were extensively built and more colonists were flocking in with new jobs opening up. All early development was aimed at securing the population's very survival; only later did they concentrate more on the intricate matters of comfort.
Finding a need for a local government, colonists formed a Planetary Council consisting of five Councilors, each with his own dominion. Along with the Council's formation, local laws were made, as an extension to Federation laws already strictly followed, to ensure free trade and cultural growth. The "Ice-Gate", a political fiasco that lasted from 06.014 to 06.072, has forced the Council into an emergency vote of two-year-mandate rule after Councilor of Economics was found embezzling several million credits through his personal account.
Toxic atmosphere made open-sky cities impossible to build, due to breathing constraints majority of population had, so domed cities were introduced - envisioned as underwater domes, these cities stood against the toxicity found in the atmosphere and stopped its influence on people and materials. Unfortunately, dome technology couldn't stop the cold - a limited supply of energy for running dome-wide heaters to fight off the bitter cold made some restrictions to local energy consumption, thus resulting in either usage of lower-tech instruments in households or heavy energy importing from other planets in wealthier mansions. Domed cities formed closed communities which revolved around each domed city families and city-clans that met regularly with their neighbors and traded excess goods.

===Planetary Government===
Planetary Council consists of five Councilors, each in charge of a specific area: Defense, Economics, Culture, Development and Internal Affairs. Elections were, and still are, held every two years to make sure that Councilors aren't able to establish a foothold which they would use further for their own means.

Council would convene in Planetary Palace on the matter that involve the population of Nouane and the betterment of the community as a whole. Each Councilor had a fixed personal expenditure plan and full accommodations paid during their tenure, but they received no payment for their work, as it was considered that their service was in service for the population.
Any decision that involved more than population of Nouane had to be confirmed with Trade Federation Representatives before being enforced.
